SMP for HAIR TRANSPLANT SCARS

The two most common transplant scars are FUE and FUT. FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) where you will see an array of ‘dot’ scarring usually from ear to ear depending upon the amount of the donors hair that is used. In our experience, these are the easiest scars to camouflage and achieve the best results as they lay flat so that we can blend these through to your existing hair. Excellent results are usually achieved after 3 or 4 sessions of Scalp Micro Pigmentation.

SMP for FUT scars

FUT stands for Follicular Unit Transplant. If you’ve had one of these, you may have been left with noticeable linear scars. The scars from Follicular Unit Transplants are often relatively large, and will usually only be completely hidden if you let your hair grow fairly long to cover them. Scalp micropigmentation is an alternative option. Small tattoos will shade your scars to blend in with the rest of your hair. With SMP for FUT scars, you can enjoy your new look without worrying about these strip scars.

With FUT (Follicular Unit Transplant) we usually find a strip scar that is raised to varying degrees. These scars will camouflage with varying success and clients must understand that due to the nature of these types of scar we cannot promise the desired results. Results can sometimes take longer to achieve as we slowly build up layers of scalp pigmentation to disguise the scar area.

SMP for FUE scars

FUE treatment, or Follicular Unit Extraction, is a less invasive form of hair transplant. It is often advertised as a scar-free treatment, though this isn’t always the case. If you’ve had a hair transplant, you may be left with small dotted scars on your scalp. Though FUE scars are difficult to spot, they may leave you feeling self-conscious. These scars, though small in size, can have a negative impact on your image. Luckily, with SMP, these scars are easy to hide. Scalp micropigmentation can easily mask FUE scars, which are small in size and easily blended using tattoos that match your hair colour.

SMP is cosmetic tattooing (medical hair tattoo) that offers a solution to hair loss by replicating hair follicles that are about to grow giving the impression of a shaved look. SMP can treat anywhere on the scalp that is losing hair or even complete baldness of the scalp.

Prices vary from £600-£2500 depending on hair loss, please send us photos of your hair loss and we can provide an accurate quote with more details.

Scalp micropigmentation gives the look of a shaven head or a stubble shadow look, the treatment at Creative Scalps will be undetectable, only you, the people you choose to tell and Creative Scalps will know.

This is dependent on the amount of hair loss. As a general rule, you will be looking at 3 or 4 sessions over a 6-8 week period. Each session can last 2-4 hours.

This is done according to skin tone and/or remaining hair colour. We have huge experience of a diverse range of clients from all cultures. 1st sessions usually start with a lighter shade and we gradually build up density and darkness as we progress to complete your treatment.

We can go through some pictures of hairlines and draw some hairlines on you. When choosing hairlines it is always best to play it safe, not going too low on the first visit. Then on the second visit you would have decided how low you want to go. We can also produce various hairline styles depending on what you like (ie jagged, soft, slightly receding, edged up, lines and designs) Creative Scalps have developed techniques and procedures to ensure your hairline will be in the correct place and suit you and your style. We are from a barbering background and have years of top level experience to ensure this is done correctly.

No. We use different pigments, inks, machines, needles and techniques. Scalp Micro Pigmentation is a specialist field of its own and requires a highly experienced technician to achieve great results.

No not at all, as the depth of the needle is only into the upper dermis, if anything the treatment has been known to stimulate hair growth.

Results of completed treatments will last for years, depending on lifestyle and immune system. Many clients like to have a top-up session after 2 or 3 years just to keep their new style looking fresh.

TOP-UP  prices vary according to what is needed. Prices for an existing client can variety from £470 to £1000.

For best results you would need the treatment to dry heal for 4 days after each treatment. So this would mean avoiding sweat, water and any sorts of creams, lotions etc….
After this period you can slowly increase activity.

Everyone is different depending on skin types. Immediately after treatment our technician will clean your treatment and use an anti-redness topical anaesthetic so you will leave the clinic looking and feeling great. The redness may possibly be with you for a day or two typically.

The treatment is perfectly safe, we use sterile equipment and brand new packaged needles for every procedure. We take health & safety very seriously and are fully insured and regulated.

No, as we only use a carbon based black pigment which is diluted to match your skin tone.

Yes, direction of hair growth is always taken into consideration for the most realistic results.

The honest answer is yes you are going to feel discomfort as with any tattoo procedure. We advise clients to have eaten well and be in good health on the day of treatment. Our pre-treatment advice also includes moisturising the scalp twice daily in the days/weeks leading up to your procedure. This will help soften the skin. The elation you will feel after solving your hairloss issues will far outweigh any discomfort from treatment.

We can work it around your work or social life no problem, weekends late nights early mornings are all ok. Creative Scalps has one of the worlds most skilled and experienced technicians so we do sometimes have waiting lists of 4-6 weeks.

    1st 2 to 5 hours 2nd 2 to 5 hours and 3rd 2 to 4 hours. All quotes are for 3 visits. 1st to 2nd visit a 10 day gap and 3rd a 4 week gap.

The first treatment is done slightly lighter to see how the pigment settles in the scalp, then the second treatment the colour can be left as it is or altered to see if you need to go dark.

We can go through some pictures of hairlines and draw some hairlines on you. When doing hairlines it is always best to play it safe, not going too low on the first visit. Then on the second visit you would have decided how low you want to go. We can also produce various hairline styles depending on what you like (ie jagged, soft, slightly receding).

No not at all even though SMP can be known as a hair tattoo, it is completely different to a tattoo. The pigments used for SMP do not change colour, complete different equipment and needles are used and a complete different technique is used. Also you have to be specially trained to perform scalp micropigmentation

No not at all, if anything the treatment has been known to stimulate hair growth in some cases.

Results can last 1 to 3 years with some touch ups in between, but depending on lifestyle and immune system it can last longer.

I charge £200 for the hour, a touch up usually lasts about 1 to 1 and a half hours.

4 days after each treatment you can not train, no sweating whatsoever, this is essential otherwise the treatment will not work. After 4 days you can train but only light training, you cannot sweat excessively for 10 days.

Everyone is different depending on skin. Some clients the red can go same day, some takes a day and some can take a few days.

The treatment is perfectly safe, Every needle used is disposed of after each treatment and the equipment is cleaned after every client.

For most, this is not necessary. Remember, it is nothing like a normal tattoo the needle goes in not so deep. But you can take paracetamol, ibuprofen or co codamol. Avoid aspirin this will cause bleeding, aspirin thins the blood.

We can work it around your work or social life no problem, weekends late nights early mornings that is not an issue.
