Our founder is Marc Allen:

Marc Allen is a former celebrity barber and since 2016 a multi award-winning SMP Artist and founder of Creative Scalps .

His exclusive techniques have been developed over the last few years, pushing the limits of SMP to a whole new level, creating the most natural realistic hairlines the world has seen.

Marc’s hairlines are known around the world and attracts an international clientele with long waiting lists in multiple countries.

As an ambassador for Bishop SMP, part of Bishop Rotary, one of the greatest tattoo companies in the world, Marc plays a big part in the development of their products into the SMP industry.
Most recently Marc’s dilution ratio for pigment, was taken to create Bishop Shades, creating a more consistent and clean product for the SMP industry as a whole.

Marc now travels the world, teaching his techniques to other Scalp Artists as well as building a Creative Scalps team of artists that work to the same incredible high standards in the UK base and now worldwide, anybody that works under the Creative Scalps banner has undergone an apprenticeship with Marc and has gained years of experience to achieve the high standards that clients would come to expect.

Marc’s ultimate aim is to make SMP better for everyone.

Sammy Dean

Sammy has been with me since the summer of 2019, he served an apprenticeship learning his trade and techniques.
Sammy now has a wealth of experience in SMP and has 1000s of treatments to his name.

Ollie Hughes

Nicole Cassidy

Marc says‘ Nicole is another amazing artist I highly recommend.

She has shadowed me since December 2020, wanting to absorb all the knowledge she can. Nicole comes from a traditional tattoo background of 20+ years and she also has six years medical tattooing experience where she creates realistic 3-D tattoos for breast cancer patients in her own private studio.

Nicole is very knowledgeable about all types of tattoo procedures. Most recently she learnt laser tattoo removal and provides this service at the Creative Scalps clinic. Nicole specialises in female and male, long hair density treatments and I encourage you to book in with her, you will not be disappointed. ‘

Will is another protege of Marc Allen and has developed his SMP skills under Marc’s watchful eye.

Will is absolutely dedicated to producing incredible SMP results and even has his own brand and small clinic called Scalp Nation.

What is scalp micropigmentation (SMP)?

SMP is cosmetic tattooing (medical hair tattoo) that offers a solution to hair loss by replicating hair follicles that are about to grow giving the impression of a shaved look. SMP can treat anywhere on the scalp that is losing hair or even complete baldness of the scalp.

Prices vary from £600 per session to £1,300 per session depending on which artist carries out the SMP Prices are based on a session price rather than individual case price.

Scalp micropigmentation gives the look of a shaven head or a stubble shadow look, the treatment at Creative Scalps will be undetectable, only you, the people you choose to tell and Creative Scalps will know.

This is dependent on the amount of hair loss. As a general rule, you will be looking at 3 or 4 sessions over a 6-8 week period. Each session can last 2-4 hours.

This is done according to skin tone and/or remaining hair colour. We have huge experience of a diverse range of clients from all cultures. 1st sessions usually start with a lighter shade and we gradually build up density and darkness as we progress to complete your treatment.

We can go through some pictures of hairlines and draw some hairlines on you. When choosing hairlines it is always best to play it safe, not going too low on the first visit. Then on the second visit you would have decided how low you want to go. We can also produce various hairline styles depending on what you like (ie jagged, soft, slightly receding, edged up, lines and designs) Creative Scalps have developed techniques and procedures to ensure your hairline will be in the correct place and suit you and your style. We are from a barbering background and have years of top level experience to ensure this is done correctly.

No. We use different pigments, inks, machines, needles and techniques. Scalp Micro Pigmentation is a specialist field of its own and requires a highly experienced technician to achieve great results.

No not at all, as the depth of the needle is only into the upper dermis, if anything the treatment has been known to stimulate hair growth.

Results of completed treatments will last for years, depending on lifestyle and immune system. Many clients like to have a top-up session after 2 or 3 years just to keep their new style looking fresh.

TOP-UP  prices vary according to what is needed. Prices for an existing client can variety from £470 to £1000.

For best results you would need the treatment to dry heal for 4 days after each treatment. So this would mean avoiding sweat, water and any sorts of creams, lotions etc….
After this period you can slowly increase activity.

Everyone is different depending on skin types. Immediately after treatment our technician will clean your treatment and use an anti-redness topical anaesthetic so you will leave the clinic looking and feeling great. The redness may possibly be with you for a day or two typically.

The treatment is perfectly safe, we use sterile equipment and brand new packaged needles for every procedure. We take health & safety very seriously and are fully insured and regulated.

No, as we only use a carbon based black pigment which is diluted to match your skin tone.

Yes, direction of hair growth is always taken into consideration for the most realistic results.

The honest answer is yes you are going to feel discomfort as with any tattoo procedure. We advise clients to have eaten well and be in good health on the day of treatment. Our pre-treatment advice also includes moisturising the scalp twice daily in the days/weeks leading up to your procedure. This will help soften the skin. The elation you will feel after solving your hairloss issues will far outweigh any discomfort from treatment. 

We can work it around your work or social life no problem, weekends late nights early mornings are all ok. Creative Scalps has one of the worlds most skilled and experienced technicians so we do sometimes have waiting lists of 4-6 weeks.
